The Legend of Los Tayos (1976)

In 1976, a joint British and Ecuadorian expedition set out to the Morona-Santiago region of Ecuador to investigate the claims of Erich von Däniken's book, 'Gold of the Gods'. Däniken claimed that impressive cave formations in the area were created by alien life forms using laser technology. The caves were also said to contain 'The Metal Library' - a legendary set of metal plates believed to have been created by an ancient civilisation. The expedition was organised by Stanley Hall and astronaut, Neil Armstrong, was it's president.
